Hello

My name is Robin Kranenborg. Freelance Creative Director based in Amsterdam. For me, creativity also lives outside of work. I’m forever curious about life and the mysteries of this universe. Inspired by people, community and culture that brings us together. I always make time for both body and mind, whether that’s through movement, nature or an open water swim. Oh yeah, and I make campaigns, content & other cool stuff!

Imagination shapes the
world we live in.

And I can’t help but feel we’ve been placing it in the wrong places. Not everything needs to compete for attention. Some things deserve to be felt. I’m drawn to work that adds to culture, instead of interrupting it. Work that invites people in, instead of pulling at them. Because honestly, we don’t need more noise to feed doom scrolling zombies. We need stories that remind us we’re alive. The strongest ideas don’t shout, they resonate. And often, they’re simpler than we think.

In a world that’s becoming more synthetic by the day, the human part is what makes the difference.

Somewhere along the way, between deadlines and data, it’s easy to forget there are people behind the work. That’s the part I care about most. The energy in a room, the unspoken trust, the moment something clicks between people. Because creativity grows stronger when people feel seen, heard and inspired by one another. Tools may keep evolving. Technology can speed things up. But human connection will always be the soul behind meaningful work.

I like making things people don’t just see, but somehow recognize.

Not because everything is explained, but because something in it feels familiar. I’m not interested in forcing a message. I’d rather leave space for your own interpretation and feeling. Because the most powerful work doesn’t tell you what to think, it reminds you of something you already carry within you.

For almost two decades, I’ve helped brands become more themselves.

And turn that into visual stories that attract the people they’re meant for. Films that stay with you, not because they’re loud, but because they echo. Photography that captures what words can’t hold. Docu formats that keep unfolding in your mind. Music videos that move your feet. Live experiences that give you goosebumps. Art installations that make you pause and question. Work that doesn’t push, but gently stays with you, like a memory you can’t fully trace, but somehow trust.

  • Sometimes I’m brought in as an all round creative to develop concepts and shape a specific campaign, experience or piece of content from idea to execution.

But mostly I work more closely with brands as a longer-term creative partner, a few days a month, helping oversee the broader creative direction across multiple projects.

Bringing an outside perspective to the process, especially when internal teams have been working within the same brand world for a long time and ideas can start to feel repetitive, too safe or too influenced by what competitors are doing.

I help identify where the strongest concepts and opportunities sit, challenge creative decisions when needed, and make sure the work keeps evolving in a way that still feels authentic to the brand. At the same time, I help teams stay creatively aligned and connected to the original intention behind the work.

  • Alongside creative direction, I work one-on-one with creatives who want to create from a place that still feels connected to who they are.

Because over time, working inside teams, agencies and constant feedback loops can slowly pull you away from your own sense of value. You start creating from pressure, expectations or the need to prove yourself, instead of from the deeper creative fire that made you want to create in the first place.

These sessions are about reconnecting to that fire. Learning how to trust your talent, your ideas, your intuition and especially your emotions, while moving through collaboration, opinions and creative pressure. Not by becoming harder or more controlled, but by becoming more grounded in yourself.

The goal is not just to make stronger creative work, but to help you move through your creative life with more clarity, confidence and alignment. Because when you feel deeply connected to yourself, your work naturally becomes more powerful and magnetic.

  • Sometimes I don’t do it alone. I work with a small circle of people I deeply trust, friends with the same esthetics, the same eye for detail, and the same curiosity and excitement for shaping ideas.

Together, we create projects across brand identity, video and photography content. Making work that feels right, looks beautiful, and carries a bit of soul. And yes, enjoying the process along the way.
